Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) invites applications for the
position of tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of
Chemistry and Biochemistry beginning August 2010. Extending
successful faculty recruitment in the last two years, this hire is
part of a strategic plan to expand our department within a larger WPI
Life Science research initiative. New $100M state-of-the-art research
facilities hosting the Life Science research departments and WPI
Bioengineering Institute anchor this effort.

The successful candidate will be a scientist working in an area of
chemistry or biochemistry. He or she should have postdoctoral
research experience and is expected to develop a vigorous, externally
funded research program. A strong commitment to excellence in
teaching in the undergraduate and graduate curricula is expected.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers both undergraduate
and graduate (Ph.D.) degrees. WPI is a private, nationally ranked
technological university with an undergraduate student body of over
3,200 and 1,100 full-time and part-time graduate students. Worcester,
New England's third largest city, offers ready access to diverse
economic, cultural and recreational resources of the region. Further
